Arrival: 4:00 PM | 12-Hour Overland Journey
1. Entering the Aftermath
After a demanding 12-hour journey under extreme heat (33–35°C) and difficult road conditions, we arrived physically weary but spiritually ready.
What awaited us was sobering.
Throughout the city, the devastation is visible:
Collapsed and unstable shelters
Broken electricity poles and hanging wires
Disrupted water systems
Families with limited food access
Children unable to return to school
Communities living in deep uncertainty
The destruction left by Cyclone Gezani is not only structural it is human.
There is visible fatigue on faces. A quiet endurance. A city in survival mode.
The impact is physical, economic, emotional, relational, and spiritual.
We sensed a heaviness as if hope itself had been shaken.
2. Our Conviction and Mission
Yet we stand anchored in hope.
As written in Genesis 2:7, God breathed life into humanity. The same God who breathed life in the beginning still restores today.
Where there is destruction, He rebuilds.
Where there is loss, He restores.
Where there is brokenness, He heals.
Where there is dryness, He revives.
Infrastructure recovery may take months or years.
But restoration begins immediately — with presence, obedience, and action.
That is why we came.
3. Team Deployment & Immediate Action
Our team of seven is serving in both practical and spiritual capacities:
Technician
Construction Builder
Nurse
Driver & Logistics Coordinator
Media Representative
Team Leaders
Before sunset, we secured essential tools and prepared for field intervention.
We brought:
Bibles
Collected clothing
Construction & cleaning materials
Rice and clean water
Practical tools for emergency response
We do not claim to solve everything.
But we commit to steward faithfully what is within our hands.
4. Scheduled Field Engagements
This week’s outreach plan:
Tuesday: Rural school community severely affected
Wednesday: Local church community
Thursday: Two vulnerable families
Friday: Countryside church community
We did not know these communities personally.
We responded to the burden placed in our hearts to go.
5. Gratitude for Partnership
This mission became possible because of those who stood with us.
We extend heartfelt gratitude to:

You mobilized presence.
You strengthened response.
You carried hope into places of devastation.
We honor and value your partnership deeply.

The need in Toamasina remains significant.
This is not the end, it is the beginning of sustained recovery and restoration.

Accommodation was uncertain upon arrival, yet provision came.
Logistics remain fluid, but obedience is clear.
We are here.
